Tree O'Clock

Little
Green Space joined a bid to set a new Guinness world record for planting
the most trees in one hour in multiple locations on
Saturday December 5th
2009
, from
11am
to
12 noon
.
Little Green Space backed the
BBC
Breathing Spaces Tree
O’Clock event by
planting 59 native broadleaved trees at a site in Hackney, Matlock, as
part of its ‘Save the North Pole’ Christmas campaign on climate
change.
“Christmas
is an important time to act on climate change. Father Christmas’s North
Pole home is under serious threat from global warming and Arctic animals
such as the polar bear could face extinction,” said Richard Bunting of
Little Green Space.
“This
December, with the world’s
governments meeting at the UN Climate Change Conference in
Copenhagen
,
is especially important. Both a strong international agreement and local
action are urgently needed.”
