Save The North Pole Christmas Event

             Matlock, Derbyshire 20 December 2008

Father Christmas visited Matlock on Saturday 20 December 2008, decked out in his traditional green costume, together with characters including polar bears and reindeer.

He toured the town in a carriage and horses from the Red House Stables Working Carriage Museum in Darley Dale.

Father Christmas and his entourage of polar bears and other festive characters raised awareness of climate change issues, as well as funds to support climate change projects -- locally with Transition Matlock and in Ghana via Village Aid. The event has also funded a grove of trees in Scotland's Caledonian Forest via award-winning charity Trees for Life.
